The APMP ANZ Task Force is a group of volunteers who are passionate about promoting bids and proposals industry as an intentional career path. We believe that is a rewarding and exciting field with a lot to offer and we want to help more people discover it.
- Mission:
To promote the bid/proposal industry in our region as a career path and make it an intentional career choice. - Key Initiatives:
Create paths and partnerships with educational institutions.
Introduce students to bids and proposals industry and APMP.
Help students develop the skills they need to succeed in this field.
- Achievements:
Recently in June 2023, Jacqueline Pike CP APMP and Samantha MacMillan CF APMP presented on behalf of the APMP ANZ Chapter at one of the local Queensland schools for its Career Day.The topic of the Presentation was “The Power of Persuasion – and How it Relates to Proposal Management as a Career.” All of the students showed interest in understanding what proposal managers are, what they do and how they use persuasion in their day-to-day work. The students had a great time, discussing how to convince their parents to give them an iPad.
Students learned how to focus on the benefits to their parents, rather than themselves- thereby imitating client focus in proposals, which is an important skill in proposal management. Students also came up with some creative ideas, such as how parents would save money not buying textbooks, not having to answer their children’s questions all the time and having more recreational time for themselves as their children would be busy on iPads.Overall, the presentation was a great success, and the students left with a better understanding of what proposal management is and how it can be a rewarding career. We are grateful to the school for giving us the opportunity to share our passion with the next generation of proposal professionals.
