That's a wrap!
The third APMP ANZ conference ‘make an impact’ was our most successful conference to date, with 170 delegates, globally recognised speakers and a charged atmosphere as people connected with like-minded industry colleagues. Keynotes Mike Parkinson and Tom Sant shared on the importance of providing ‘at a glance’, quantified information so here is a summary of the conference in numbers.
Personal highlights included rethinking value propositions with Tom Sant, refocussing on priorities to beat burnout with Kat Barter and Kelly Richmond’s use of Mr Men and Little Miss characters to explain challenging bid team behaviours. Another highlight was our inaugural APMP game show hosted by APMP Global CEO Rick Harris: watch out for its appearance at next year’s US conference.
What stood out overall though was ‘the vibe’ as referenced in the great Australian film The Castle. The conference rooms buzzed with excitement. Each delegate seemed genuinely excited to be there and conversations centred on new ideas as well as new friendships formed. This continued at our gala event, where delegates took photos with scuba divers and endured several fish puns from myself and Vice-Chair Felix Becker, our MC extraordinaire.
Thanks again to our major sponsors Shipley and BidWrite, other sponsors and supporters and my fellow organising committee members. We look forward to doing it all again in Sydney on 26 and 27 August 2020.
An independent survey is being conducted on the conference, to help us measure the impact it had for delegates and inform future planning. I would also welcome feedback on this years’ conference and ideas on how APMP ANZ can provide more value to members as we move into planning for next year.
